Shrink fit chucks

Shrink fit chuck for automatic tool change with axial adjustment of length
for metal and wood processing machines with rotating cutting tools

Technical Data

The shrink fit chucks are produced according to DIN 69882-8; 2002-11.
If used properly you achieve highest accuracy of cyclic running and
repeatability, highest transferable torques, long operating life, and the
chucks are easy to use and maintenance free.

- material 1600 -1800 N/mm2
- hardness 52+2 HRc
- tool holders are balanced
- laser mark
- maximum revolution 40000 rpm (B19
(observe the rpm limits of the interface, balancing recommended!)
- usable shafts: cylindrical shafts - tolerance h6
- range of adjustment of length 10 mm

Application:

Shrinking

1. Clean the tool shaft and the clamping bore and check them for damage
    (do not use damaged components).

2. Presetting of the tool length by turning the adjustment screw with an Allen-T-wrench.

3. Heating of the clamping area of the shrink fit chuck with a suitable
shrink unit causes an expansion of the clamping bore.

4. Insert tool shaft up to adjustment screw.

5. Cool down the shrink fit chuck with the inserted tool.

Shrinking out

1. Heating of the clamping area of the shrink fit chuck with a suitable
shrink unit causes an expansion of the clamping bore.

2. Take out the tool.

3. Cool down the shrink fit chuck and the tool.

Caution!

1. During and after the shrinking process you can be burned.
The temperature in the shrinking area is appr. 400° C.
Please use ISO protective gloves during the shrinking process.

2. Please keep the min. clamping depth. If not you will no longer achieve
the safe transferable torque and the shrink fit chuck may be damaged
because of the high clamping forces.

Maintenance and cleaning

1. Protect the shrink fit chucks against corrosion before storing.
